The vision of the Moondance, as well as of our circle Meztli Ehecamitl Mihtotia, is to bring together women from different parts of the globe, representing various races, cultures, and beliefs. Providing them with a powerful way to heal, pray, and expand in consciousness. Building a sisterhood based on respect, awareness, sustainability, and compassion. 

The circle is led by Yanelí Meztli, a soulful singer, dancer, and wisdom keeper of the Mexica tradition. She has dedicated more than 15 years to learning and leading Mexica ceremonies such as Aztec Dance, Sacred Pipe, Drumming Circle, and Temazcal (sweat lodge). She went through her Moondance in Xochimeztli circle under the guidance of elder Tonalmitl among other wise women. Her work is focused on awareness and respect for Mother Earth, holding a sacred space for people to elevate their prayers in the native Mexica ways and benefit from the medicine within us nurtured by the Great Spirit.

In the full moon of August 2024, we had the visit from elder Guadalupe Rétiz Tonalmitl. She passed down the ceremony to our circle Meztli Ehecamitl led by Yaneli, officially establishing our Moondance and allowing us to celebrate this ancient Native Mexican ceremony in Ireland for the years to come. 

We are honored to have the opportunity to hold this space for the beautiful hearts that resonate with this way of praying on this side of the world from the mystical Éire.
